TX4WD Organization

Fellow members of TX4WD,

As you are aware we all are playing witness to the handover of our organization from our long term President, Ingrid Hollinger, to the general membership. As you know with any change in an organization as vast as TX4WD, this will come with some challenges. We appreciate your patience.

We are presenting the following resolution for consideration by the members of TX4WD.

By a unanimous decision of the presently active chapter leadership, we resolve to appoint Teresa Macorke (T/C Chapter) as Interim Chair and Tim Thomas (Katy Chapter) as Interim Co-Chair for a period of one year from the date of announcement.
Currently Teresa is the Run Coordinator for the Tomball/Conroe Chapter and Tim is the President of the Katy Chapter. Both have served as officers on boards and are well respected and are employed by globally based companies, very familiar with operational procedures and the logistics of working on large projects. Their enthusiasm for off-roading, professional backgrounds and their attention to detail were the primary factors in choosing them to serve as the spokespeople for TX4WD during this transition.

Based on open dialogue of the active chapter leadership and feedback from the General Membership, it has been determined that the highest orders of business are:

• Establish By-laws – allowing true ownership of the club to sit with the membership; provide the means for our membership to have a voice in determining our direction forward; provide a system of checks and balances; establish an election process as well as articles of incorporation. All these combined will help to alleviate many of the issues that we have encountered over the years.
  
• Update the ‘hub’ site to reflect the face of TX4WD. Providing sources of information related to off-highway activities as well as a portal for members to find educational opportunities and what it means to be a part of the overall wheeling community.

We are enthusiastic about the future of our organization and believe that the resolution we present will afford us each the opportunity to be a part of the process that will guide the united re-construction of TX4WD.

The mission of this club has been defined as the following:
“The Texas Four Wheel Drive Organization's mission is to unify Texas off-roaders and 4X4 enthusiasts. It encourages the free sharing of information on local wheeling-related resources, meetings, swap meets, and trails.”
It is our job, as individual members, to help to create that unity and to live by this mission statement.
